The department of Chinandega is located in the Pacific region of Nicaragua, at the western end of the country. Chinandega is an agricultural region, is mainly cultivated sugarcane, peanuts and sorghum, is currently one of the leading producers of shrimp, sugar and rum.
It is a region with many attractions to know, such as the city of El Realejo first major port during the Spanish conquest, the Old Basilica, National Shrine, one of the oldest churches in the continent, as well as beautiful beaches and volcanoes can be from anywhere in the city.
